Sorry, Selenators — it looks like Selena Gomez is going to be M.I.A. for longer than we expected. The singer has reportedly been getting help at a treatment center in Tennessee, and she’s planning on staying in the rehab facility for months, according to a new report. Say it ain’t so!
Selena Gomez, 24, looked totally happy and carefree when she took photos with fans at a Texas Roadhouse in Tennessee on Oct. 8, but she reportedly still has a long way to go when dealing with her anxiety and depression. In fact, the 24-year-old still has “months” to go in her treatment at an undisclosed facility, according to InTouch Weekly.
“She will be there for a few months,” an insider tells the mag. “It’s exactly what Selena needs.” As we previously reported, Sel cancelled the remainder of her Revival tour and announced she’d be taking a break from the spotlight to deal with side effects from medication she’s taking for lupus. She managed to keep a low profile until October when fans noticed her at the Tennessee restaurant, but she was said to be in “great” spirits as she posed for several photos.
Still, the “Same Old Love” singer has been radio silent on social media, and is clearly using this time to focus on herself, even if it means losing contact with her fans for a bit. As we EXCLUSIVELY reported, she’s been keeping journals throughout this difficult time, though, which she hopes to transform into songs once she gets back to work on her next album.
